Laura Breen-Escott is someone you feel before you know. A movement educator and facilitator, Pilates Master Trainer, founder of the LBE Method, modern shaman, medical intuitive, entrepreneur, retreat host, creative, and personal dear friend and mentor. She is someone who expands your sense of possibility. Laura’s work exists at the intersection of embodiment, intuition, and vitality. Her approach to movement is deeply profound and human: she invites people to be free with their bodies while embracing presence and power.

Laura has been a longtime collector, collaborator, and supporter of Alexis Co., which I am so grateful for. She has curated a collection of the earliest pieces, like the signature top, and a custom granny square maxi dress we designed together; the drop-waist maxi skirt in the prettiest purple that she wears as a dress, and her newest knit is a one-of-a-kind black fringe maxi dress. She's also snagged some of my favorite vintage and designer-resale pieces in my collection, like her suede fringe jacket, white riding jacket, and little leather purse. Laura moves through the world intentionally and intuitively, with quiet confidence. She is in-tune with her body and her work, and encourages her clients to tap in to their intution and self-knowing, as well.

Laura's method, the LBE Method, is a somatic movement experience that blends strength and fluidity in a way that defies traditional workouts. While it builds physical resilience and mobility, it also feels more like a dance... like a remembering of your body’s natural rhythm. The LBE Method is spiritual, intense, and grounding, with no bounds or limitations on how you move, feel, or express yourself.
Laura brings this work to life through her digital studio, intimate pop-ups, and transformational retreats. I’ve had the joy of co-hosting a mini retreat with Laura, and our shared vision for what’s possible through movement, creativity, and community continues to unfold. We’re excited to be collaborating more in the future, including an upcoming pop-up this Spring in Vero Beach, Florida. For me, Laura has personally helped redefine what it means to move with intention, reconnect with the physical self, and create experiences that nourish both body, mind and spirit.
Get to know Laura in her Muse Q&A, where she is photographed by Christina Stein in her own home and in-studio by me. I love how Laura has shared how each Alexis Co. piece resonates with her spirit and how she hopes others feel when they reach for something handmade with love.

How did you first meet Lex?
I honestly can’t recall the exact moment, we felt like we’d always known each other. She’s soul-sister energy. We immediately “saw” one another. To know Lex is to be called into your best self; she is both grace and power and has a way of making everything beautiful and meaningful. I found her and her vision so inspiring that I spent a season helping in her curated shop when it was in Sewickley, PA.

When did you start collecting Alexis Co?
I’ve been collecting since 2016. My most recent piece, picked up just a few weeks ago, might be my favorite of all time. Every year, Lex's work feels even more intentional and alive. When I wear Alexis Co. I receive compliments every single time. People notice the silhouette and the texture first, and then the way the piece seems made for the moment. It’s a quiet standout.

What draws you to Alexis Co knitwear?
The pieces make me feel feminine, confident, and comfortable, like a true reflection of my personal style. They’re unique yet timeless, and they read as effortlessly chic. I love the way the textiles move with my body and breath. The craftsmanship and small-batch nature give each piece a quiet power, a sense that it’s been designed with a person in mind, not just a trend.

How do these pieces resonate with your work and who you are?
My work is about helping people inhabit their own vitality and vibration, processing and moving energy in modern, accessible ways. The LBE Method is deeply somatic, and Alexis Co pieces feel somatic too: they drape, stretch, and breathe with you. Getting dressed becomes a simple ritual, a way to set the tone for how you’ll move through the day. These garments are wearable confidence and calm; they let you be fully yourself.
Is there a personal connection to the art around Alexis Co.?
Yes. I have the honor of owning three pieces of art by Lex’s sister, Lindsay, who passed a few years ago. Those works feel like part of the same lineage: beauty that holds meaning. Everything from Lex is kismet.

Any words for someone considering their first Alexis Co. piece?
Choose the piece that makes you exhale and stand taller. You’ll reach for it again and again. Alexis Co. is intentional luxury, made to move with your life and become a future heirloom.
