Last weekend my boyfriend and I planned a last minute getaway into the countryside that left me feeling inspired and refreshed. Delightful sunshine until late in the evening, the fireplace was always going and our entertainment, wholesome meals, fresh air, and catching up with family over a long Sunday brunch - our weekend was perfect.
Before I delve in to some words of wisdom, let's explore my packing list... No matter what is in my bag, the essential ideal and inception of Lex & Lynne is always there - our signature handmade bracelets (my art), a Dutzi something (this time my favorite clutch that was customized for my cousins wedding), and Artemis Design Co. kilim flats. L&L's foundation was created from a single beaded bracelet that I composed in my NYC apartment once upon a time; we grew because of like minded designers wishing to re purpose and create art. Dutzi was the second line we carried, and Artemis Design Co. one of the handful. It's nice to revisit the basics.
I lounged all weekend in some Sloane & Tate briefs and leggings, as well as 360 Cashmere sweaters - Sable is my favorite. I dressed it up for dinner and brunch and wore some DVF and Velvet, by Graham & Spencer.
Getaways like this are a priority to me - stepping away from my every day life, work, routines, and allowing a 24 to 48 hour window of new experiences and scenery puts everything into perspective and provides some clarity.
