Muse: Terra McBride

Posted by Alexis Corry on

Terra is a creative force with a deep-rooted sense of authenticity that she carries through everything she does. Hailing from Pittsburgh, she’s long embraced a style that feels uniquely her own, sharing it freely within both her local community and the broader online world. Through her fashion and lifestyle blog, Love Nothing More, which she launched many years ago, Terra has cultivated an online oasis where her personal style shines, inspiring others to embrace their own unique selves. Her blog has become much more than a platform for fashion; it’s a space where self-expression, storytelling, and empowerment come together through her creativity and personality.

Whether through carefully curated outfits, thoughtful posts, or showcasing local Pittsburgh talent, Terra has always stayed true to herself, connecting with a community that celebrates individuality. Her journey as a creative aligns beautifully with Alexis Co.'s own mission, especially in her Muse story, captured by our mutual dear friend and fellow creative, Christina Stein. Read Terra's full story and discover her commitment to the power of creative expression!

"When I finally experienced the shop in person, I felt like I was in some impossibly stylish and slightly bohemian woman's very cool home. It felt warm, inviting, well-curated and special."

Tell us about the first time you walked into Lex & Lynne...
It would be more accurate to say the first time I experienced Lex & Lynne, which was actually online and due exclusively to the fashion community in Pittsburgh. I loved what Lex & Lynne stood for and felt compelled to support them. At first it was sharing their posts and then I included them in a Pittsburgh gift guide on my blog. When I finally experienced the shop in person, I felt like I was in some impossibly stylish and slightly bohemian woman's very cool home. It felt warm, inviting, well-curated and special.

Tell us about meeting Lex...
Meeting Lex was like reconnecting with my oldest friend. Talking to her always feels comfortable and easy. I've been following Alexis Co. for about six years.

Do you have a hack for how you wear your pieces? Maybe something we've never seen before?
As a petite gal, I think the chunky cropped sweaters look awesome with a fitted, high-waisted pant or skirt. It makes your legs look so long! And then sometimes I go for the exact opposite with a super relaxed, low-slung pant. It just depends on my mood!

What about Alexis Co. has you coming back each season?
The quality of the pieces and the genuine care Lex takes with every aspect of her business. I love what she's created and I want to support her! There are still so few businesses who focus on smaller batch, quality pieces that are heirlooms while also paying a fair wage to the creators.

What are you passionate about?
Learning. I never want to stop being curious about the world. My natural inclination is to be a little lazy or to procrastinate. But as I get older I can feel more and more how precious time really is. So now I sign up for the class, I do the ropes course with my daughter, I make mistakes, I try again, I make myself present.

What is the oldest piece in your collection?
It would have to be this cropped sweater.

What is the newest piece in your collection?
It's the heart sweater. But my eyes are squarely on the knit skirts and duster

How do you give back to your community? Are you involved in any non-profit or volunteer work you would like to share? Do you serve on any boards or fundraising?
It was an honor to serve as a member of the board of Style 412, a non-profit dedicated to the growth of conscious fashion and industry professionals in Pittsburgh. I am also a founding board member of the newly formed Future of Finance Scholarship Fund, a scholarship dedicated to creating more opportunities for women in financial services

Terra is wearing the signature Lex & Lynne (now Alexis Co.) Heart Sweater, crafted from untreated natural wool from Chile and featuring a bold red heart. A fan favorite, this sweater was reimagined a year later with a light purple heart in honor of Lex’s sister, Lindsay, and became the Love Like Lindsay Sweater. Today, Alexis Co. continues to celebrate this iconic piece by offering customizations, such as adding stitching and a single heart to any sweater, for example like this Yellow Heart Sweater.
