A last-minute road-trip to Woodstock, Vermont for a long-weekend getaway, yes please! Spending time with the horses, admiring the Canadian geese family that roams around the pond; gardening, cooking, farm-to-table meals, and some much needed quality time with my boyfriend, Zach... what more could a girl ask for?
I was adamant about Sunday brunch at home over the weekend; just the two of us, a simple and hearty meal, with some time to roam and relax around the property followed by a nice walk. Nothing says Summer (to me, at least) like fresh blueberries, thus we decided on blueberry pancakes, accompanied by a slew of classics: scrambled eggs, bacon, a simple salad, and of course that Vermont-cheddar fix.
Saturday afternoon was designated for gathering fresh, local ingredients and the perfect pancake mix; we brought Lex & Lynne, Men's signature hot-sauce obsession -- Arizona Gunslinger, and returned to our roots with our favorite Natalie's citrus juice.
With a slight chill in the air and the beaming sun - a moment you know the seasons are transitioning from Spring to Summer - I threw on my go-to cotton-gauze dress & Zach's Todd Snyder sweater (one of my fav's). Zach's wearing a heather-gray & denim Todd Snyder top paired with our new Billy Reid khaki shorts. Both in Kilim flats. A denim apron, the piglet cutting board, and signature hot sauces from the L&L Men's boutique were staples for this afternoon.
We spent our Sunday morning listening to music, dancing around the kitchen, photographing our craft of cooking, and laughing. The outcome: a delicious meal made with lots of love and the perfect mimosa.
